(SIS10) Sport, Fitness and Recreation

The SIS10 Sport, Fitness and Recreation Training Package consolidates the following Training Packages:

SRC04 Community Recreation Training Package
SRF04 Fitness Training Package
SRO03 Outdoor Recreation Training Package
SRS03 Sport Training Package

Why the merge?
The Sport and Recreation Training Package Review was undertaken to:
  •     comply with Training Package development policy, provided by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), known as the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) when the Training Package Review began.
  •     embed employability skills into units of competency
  •     reduce the large amount of duplication occurring across the Sport, Fitness, Community Recreation and Outdoor Recreation Training Packages and within units
  •     meet equity considerations
  •     remove prerequisite packaging, where possible, and embed essential knowledge and skills into units of competency
  •     re-examine the packaging of units to ensure unit selection meets industry employment requirements—industry specific units in the core and the ‗business of sport‘ and ‗employment pathway‘ units in the electives—to focus graduate skills on the technical competencies required for employment and enable the elective units to reflect the individual circumstances of the graduate
  •     revise and tighten the performance criteria in every unit to reflect and provide examples of activities, skills, knowledge and understanding.
