BSB07 Business Services Training Package

The business services industry is a major contributor to the Australian economy comprising small, medium and large enterprises including multinationals and franchises.

Business services workers such as receptionists, office managers, secretaries and personal assistants provide the crucial services that keep all industries functioning.

In 2002 the Business Council of Australia (BCA) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), produced the Employability Skills for the Future report in consultation with other peak employer bodies and with funding provided by the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA).

The report indicated that business and industry required a broader range of skills and featured an Employability Skills Framework identifying eight Employability Skills:
•    communication
•    teamwork
•    problem solving
•    initiative and enterprise
•    planning and organising
•    self-management
•    learning
•    technology.
