Vertical Rescue - Casualty Care Option

Aim

The aim of this course is to fine tune the participants’ skills in managing a casualty.

Description

This course is designed for persons already qualified in vertical rescue.
Practical scenarios are specifically tailored to develop casualty care skills applied in a vertical rescue context.

Duration

The course can be conducted over a nominated time of 1 day.


Duration may vary with different groups’ requirements.

Unit/s of Competence

There is not a nationally recognised Unit of Competency awarded for this course.

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate of Participation.

  • Identifying Hazards and Risks
  • Basic life support
  • Casualty management
  • Casualty packaging
  • Casualty escort

Prerequisites

Participants have to be vertical rescue qualified.

Assessment

Participants are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of competency.
Participants must be able to anticipate issues, implement relevant procedures, and conduct a variety of rescues.
