Vertical Rescue - Alpine - Winter Conditions Option

Aim

The aim of this course is to adapt vertical rescue skills to winter alpine environment specificities.

Description

This course is designed for persons already qualified in vertical rescue.

Practical scenarios are specifically tailored to practice the minimalist techniques, and the use of light weight equipment in snow and ice terrain.

Duration

The course can be conducted over a nominated time of 1 day.


Duration may vary with different groups’ requirements.

Unit/s of Competence

There is not a nationally recognised Unit of Competency awarded for this course.

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate of Participation.

Prerequisites

Participants have to be vertical rescue qualified

Assessment

Participants are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of competency.
Participants must be able to anticipate issues, implement relevant procedures, and conduct a variety of rescues.
