Operational Risk Management

Aim

The aim of this course is to qualify participants to identify risks within their own work responsibilities and apply their organisational risk management processes.

Description

This course addresses identifying risks, analyzing and evaluating risks, treating risks and monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of treatment of risks. Risks are those applicable within the work responsibilities and area of operation. This may include projects being undertaken individually or by a team, or to operations within a section of the organisation. Risk management processes aim to minimize potential adverse impacts and maximize continuity of operations.

Pre-Requisites

There are no specific pre-requisites to this course however participants should ensure they are able to collect information, solve problems, effectively communicate and possess an attention for detail.

Assessment

To achieve competency, participants must demonstrate a minimum level of skill and knowledge in accordance with the unit/s of competence and be able to transfer their skills and knowledge to other contexts. Participants are required to demonstrate competency in managing risks through a systematic process and are not required to possess expert knowledge of every facet of their business.
