Aim

The aim of this course is to qualify participants to develop, implement and evaluate risk management plans within a business context.

Description

Risk management is the foundation of enterprises and should be understood and implemented at all levels of a team or organisation in order to balance the realization of opportunities for gains while minimizing losses. The Enterprise Risk Management course is designed for team leaders, managers and executives who are required to develop, implement and evaluate risk management plans. Risk Management is an integral part of good management and an essential element of good corporate governance.

  • BSBRSK501A - This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across the organisation or for a specific business unit or area.

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate as well as a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment.

Pre-Requisites

There are no specific pre-requisites to this course however participants should ensure they are able to collect information, solve problems, create a plan and effectively communicate.

Assessment

To achieve competency, participants must demonstrate a minimum level of skill and knowledge in accordance with the unit/s of competence and be able to transfer their skills and knowledge to other contexts. Participants are required to demonstrate competency in managing risks through a systematic process and are not required to possess expert knowledge of every facet of their business.
