Critical Incident Management - Emergency Control Organisation (ECO)

Aim  

The aim of the program is to train participants in the response procedures & base leadership skills in order to participate in or manage an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) 

Description

This program seeks to help participants discover reliable and simple response procedures for their site & increase their leadership skills to manage both themselves & others in adverse emergency situations. The program assumes an ECO is in place or intended to be in place. Close to reality scenarios are used to ensure participants complete the program with the confidence to act in the workplace. Participants can expect to be challenged.

  • PUAWER006A Lead An Emergency Control Organisation - Prepare for workplace emergencies; Apply command, control and coordinate aspects of workplace emergency procedures; Control the response to emergency reports, signals and warnings; Coordinate reports and results of initial emergency response; Conclude incident.

Accreditation 

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate stating the information covered, duration of training, date of issue, location of training and general remarks. Participants will also receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment.

Pre-Requisites 

Participants are required to be part of, or intending to be part of, an ECO & possess leadership skills.

Assessment 

To achieve competency, participants must demonstrate a minimum level of skill and knowledge in accordance with the unit/s of competence and be able to transfer their skills and knowledge to other contexts. Participants are required to demonstrate competency in managing a response to an on-site emergency situation to a level up to the handover of such a situation to an emergency service.
