Self-rescue

Aim

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to rock climb autonomously outdoor.                                                                   

Description

This course is designed to prepare the participants to respond autonomously in a range of adverse situations and to be able to retreat and/or assist a climbing partner.

Duration

This is a 3 days course.

Unit/s of Competence

This is a nationally accredited course.

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate of attainment.

  • Environment considerations
  • First Aid considerations

Pre-Requisites

A basic experience of outdoor climbing will be expected of the participants.

Assessment

Participants are required to provide assistance in range of relevant situations.
