The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to safely undertake a winter backcountry day trip. |

The course is intended for individuals wanting to consolidate their knowledge required for maintaining their safety in winter conditions. |
Duration |
The course can be conducted over a nominated time of 2 days. Duration may vary with different groups’ requirements. |

There is not a nationally recognised Unit of Competency awarded for this course. |
Accreditation |
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Risk Response & Rescue Certificate of Participation. |

Participants are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of competency. Participants must be able to identify hazards and risks and implement safety procedures. |
