Twenty teams competed in this years Australasian Road Rescue Organisation (ARRO) Rescue Challenge in Hamilton, New Zealand.
The learning symposium, workshops and competition began on Thursday 20th July.
Mick Holton was in New Zealand assisting in a number of areas and working in one of the workshop pits.
Mick said that he enjoys the workshop pits because it is an opportunity for teams to use new tools, test new ideas and techniques along with the sharing of skills and knowledge.
Mick was also pleased that he was able to work with the Holmatro Team, Flinn and Ronald from Holland.
Wollongong Firefighters have done us proud with a first place in the Entrapped Rescue event, third place in the Controlled Rescue event, the Best Technical Team award and they were the third place overall winners.
Well done to Andy Barber and his Team.
