Ten volunteers completed a physical and mentally challenging course relating to the competencies required to respond to an underground incident and conduct search and rescue operations at Broken Hills Perilya Mine.

Perilya is one of the Australia’s largest based metal miners producing premium zinc and lead concentrate operating in the iconic and historic Australian town of Broken Hill.

Perilya's mine resuce team is responsible for 1,042 square kilometres of terrain which includes the mine leases, incorporating the Southern Operations, the North Mine, the Potosi Trend, and the historic Little Broken Hill and Pinnacles areas.
