Snap-shot | Phil Paterson is currently operating as an Emergency Services Officer at BHP Billiton Olympic Dam mining operation while still remaining an active volunteer with the local Fire Service. During his time as a volunteer fire fighter, Phil has attended numerous grass wild fires, structure fires, MVAs and HAZMAT incidents, including a two day response to the, at the time, largest clandestine laboratory in Australia. Phil also has held the rank of Senior Fire Fighter, Station Equipment Officer and Cadet Coordinator. Since 2005 Phil has worked in a professional emergency response capacity for two separate mines. Throughout this time Phil has responded to all types of industrial incidents, including major underground fires, mass casualty and medical emergency responses, and security related incidents. Phil has also been involved in the training of Emergency Response Personnel in all disciplines from volunteers to professionals for the past 3 years. |
