Children & Young People Care & Protection
Policy
RR+R from time to time has participants under the age of 18 years of age who enrol on courses or undertake commercial activities with the company.
RR+R adheres to relevant legislation which provides protection for children and young people, including the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 and the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998.
We understand that the Acts require mandatory reporting to the NSW Department of Community Services of abuse or risk of harm to children aged up to, but not including 16 years. For young people aged from 16 and up to, but not including, 18 years the young person should be involved in discussions about intentions to report.
All staff are required, as a condition of employment, to sign a Prohibited Employment declaration and to consent to screening by RR+R.
All staff are informed about their responsibilities to report risk of harm or abuse of children and young people.
Confidentiality of information relating to children, young people and staff will be maintained at all times.
