Support for Participants & Staff

Participants and staff support is detailed in the following sections.


Participant/client support

  

  • Trained administration staff to answer enquiries on courses, EEO, access and equity issues
  • Provision of accurate, current course information
  • Educational counselling and advice within the staffs’ area of expertise
  • Referrals to other providers when appropriate
  • Trainers trained in adult education principles
  • Literacy and numeracy support by referral
  • Negotiations with employers for on-the-job training components of courses
  • Telephone evaluations for feedback and support
  • Flexible delivery

Trainers support


Trainers are supported in RR+R by:

 

  • Support in course development, assessment strategies
  • Individual counselling on training matters - telephone, fax, e-mail
  • Face-to-face professional development courses given either free or very low cost
  • Professional focus groups held for information exchange
  • Consultation with trainers - individually and in groups to determine the type of support they want
  • Counselling for difficult training management situations
  • Trainer handbook and induction given on joining RR+R
  • Grievances process in place


  • Procedure


    In the first instance trainers and assessors should be aware of the services available by referring to their handbook and the Code of Practice, RR+R is limited in the scope of the welfare it can offer except in the provision of catering requirements when appropriate.


    Apart from subject expertise other guidance is by referral. The Director should be contacted to determine appropriate referrals.
