Staff Development


Policy


RR+R is committed to maintaining a training group, which delivers superior training and assessment services. To achieve this, staff will be given every opportunity to maintain a high level of current and relevant knowledge, skills and experience.


All accredited program trainers and assessors will have a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.


This aim will manifest itself by:

 

  • Provision of training / information by the company on significant changes in the VET system, which will include Training Packages and Assessment Systems.
  • Information sessions to update information from the web sites.
  • Attendance at Work Cover courses for OH&S and other relevant areas.
  • Attendance and contribution to validation activities both inside and external to the company.
  • Attending conferences and seminars.
  • Joining team instruction exercises to cross fertilise and increase knowledge.
  • Contributing to the Learning Organisation ethos.
  • Developing training individual training plans on an annual basis through staff reviews


RR+R also encourages administration staff to develop their skills and knowledge. The Managing Director will identify skills gaps, establish training priorities and implement the necessary training activities as part of annual staff reviews.


Procedure


The training of staff may be identified:

 

  • By the Managing Director during semi-annual performance appraisals of staff or trainers or at any other time
  • On request by the member of staff or trainer, subject to agreement by the Managing Director
  • At the point of employment.


Details of staff and trainers participation in courses, both planned and completed, will be entered in the Staff Development Register which is maintained by the Training and Office Manager, and on the individual’s Personnel file.
