Recognition of Prior Learning
Policy
RR+R is committed to the principle of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and all courses/units of competency contained in our scope fall within this policy.
Note: RPL includes recognition of current competencies.
Evidence to claim competency will be collected within the guidelines of the Training Package for Assessment and Workplace train TAA04.
Each course will have specific requirements related to the demonstration of competency and individuals will be referred to those specific requirements.
Short courses (less than 16 hours) are not normally considered suitable for RPL but this decision is left entirely up to the participant.
All participants in accredited courses are eligible to access RPL.
The Appeals Policy applies to RPL.
Participants will be given information on the availability of RPL on registering for a course.
Due to the high risk nature of activities on our scope and the requirements of legislation and national standards that these are regularly maintained, RR+R may require persons seeking RPL to demonstrate current competency in the qualification in addition to recognition of prior learning.
