21. Privacy


21.1 Policy


RR+R respects privacy and have developed our own privacy policy, which embody the national privacy principles in the Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in relation to the collection and protection of personal information.


21.1.1 Collecting Information


We collect personal information when provision of our services to client requires us to collect information about individuals on their behalf.

We will tell the client / individual why we are collecting personal information and how we plan to use it or these things will be obvious when we collect the information.


We usually collect personal information such as personal contact details, current employment or engagement details, employment or engagement history with employer, expertise and career interests. If we collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act, for example date of birth, medical fitness) it will be for the sole purposes of providing our training, assessment or consultancy services to our clients or maintaining training records as part of our accreditation. If the law requires us to, we will seek consent to collect it.


21.1.2 Collecting Information Using Our Website


We generally only collect personal information from our website when it is provided voluntarily - for example, when forms to contact us are completed. We will maintain contact details for the purpose of managing the seminar and for future marketing and contact purposes that may arise.


Visits to this website or downloads of information from it, the following information is recorded by our Internet Service Provider (ISP):

  • internet address;
  • domain name if applicable; and
  • the date and time of the visit to the website.


Our ISP also collects information such as the pages our users access, the documents they download, links from other sites they follow to reach our site, and the types of browser they use.


However, this information is anonymous and is only used for statistical and website development purposes.


21.1.3 How We Use and Disclose Information


We use information to provide services to our clients. We may share information with staff members of RR+R, where they require that information to improve or review the services we provide.


The information disclosed does not include collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act, for example date of birth, medical fitness).


RR+R may disclose information to other training organisations, our contractors and strategic alliance partners from time to time to help us to provide and market our services to you our valued client. If we do this we require these parties to protect your information the same way we do. We will handle personal information relying on the employee and related bodies corporate exemption in the Privacy Act where these exemptions are relevant.


RR+R is bound by professional obligations of confidentiality. We will continue to treat and protect information we receive (including any personal information) in accordance with these obligations.


At the conclusion of a training course or consultancy contract, RR+R only retain such information that we have collected during the course or consultancy that is required or to be kept by law or as part of our obligation as a registered training organisation. We provide an inventory of material so returned or destroyed to the client for their records. We will file the inventory listing of records returned or destroyed for our records.


21.1.4 Use of Cookies (Internet)


A cookie is a small message given to your web browser by our web server. The browser stores the message in a text file, and the message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. We make limited use of cookies on this website. We only use cookies to improve the functionality of our website, not to store any personal information. For example, if we provide a notice or update regarding a significant change to the law, we may use cookies to ensure that you do not receive this notice each time you access our website.


When cookies are used on this site, they are used to store information relating to each visit such as a unique identifier, or a value to indicate whether you have seen a web page. They are used to distinguish your Internet Browser from the thousands of other browsers. This site will not store personal information such as email addresses or other details in a cookie. Most Internet browsers
are set up to accept cookies.


21.1.5 Security


We use a variety of physical and electronic security measures including restricting physical access to our offices, firewalls and secure databases to keep personal information secure from misuse, loss or unauthorised use or disclosure. The Internet is not an absolutely secure environment. RR+R will not use the internet to send or receive any personal information it may require in the course of it's operations, unless there is no other appropriate delivery method.
