Learning & Assessment Strategies
Policy
A training and assessment strategy shall be developed for each accredited training course prior to delivery, and where conducted in the workforce, shall be negotiated in advance with the employer.
The strategy shall identify the target group, the learning needs of the prospective participants, the delivery and assessment modes and validation procedure where applicable.
The course developer will ensure that delivery and assessment, and any customisation to meet client's needs, complies with the applicable Training Package, accredited course, qualification or competency. Core and elective units and possible pathways for subsequent development, will be identified where applicable.
RR+R chooses courses by consultation with participants, advice from employers and keeping in touch with various Industry Advisory Bodies.
Learning strategies will take into account industry specific requirements, for example, the use of simulations on client sites for confined space training in their vessels.
Participant's learning needs, requirements for language, literacy and numeracy support, and physical fitness to undertake the course, will eb assessed prior to its commencement. Due to the element of risk in many RR+R's training courses the Company may find it necessary to refute, restrict or qualify participants in certain circumstances.
The modes and scheduling of delivery and assessment in the workplace will be negotiated with the employer and participants.
