Harassment & Victimisation

Policy

RR+R has a duty of care to safeguard participants, staff and visitors from the risk of harm while participating in our activities or when on our premises, and in the interests of all participants in our courses we cannot allow a participant to disrupt the learning experience of other participants.

Accordingly we will take firm action against any person found, or reported to be, harassing, victimising, or bullying participants, members of staff, instructors or other persons participating in our activities or on our premises.

All complaints of harassment will be treated seriously, sympathetically, quickly, and privately and will be investigated fairly and impartially. People making complaints and witnesses of harassment will not be victimised in any way for making a complaint.

Reports will be kept in staff or participant complaint files and appropriately referenced in personnel records. Serious and/or repeated incidents of harassment may result in dismissal from RR+R, and formal complaints will be made to police if deemed appropriate by the Managing Director and the offended party.

We will, throughout any actions taken to investigate a reported incident of harassment, victimisation or bullying ensure that privacy of personal information is maintained. Any accusation of this kind may be potentially defamatory, and the disclosure of personal information about persons involved in such incidents must be restricted to those involved in the investigation and determination of the
matter on a ‘need to know’ basis, or as required by law.

All incidents, observations, or relevant conversations and other communications should be carefully recorded, and signed and dated by RR+R staff and other witnesses wherever possible.
